Abstract: Many people assume kiwi only live in native forests. If kiwi have access to food, water, shelter and protection from predators they can thrive anywhere, including in pine forests. In recent years, interest in pine forests and kiwi conservation has risen as researchers learn more about how kiwi can adapt to different environments. As a result, kiwi conservationists and forestry owners are discovering how they can work together to help rebuild the kiwi population.
