Abstract: This update provides an overview of the work done during 2023 by the Forest Industry Safety Council (FISC) and its operational arm Safetree. FISC is a not-for-profit organisation that leads and coordinates safety and wellbeing initiatives in the plantation forestry industry. Its governing body includes representatives of government, forest owners and managers, contractors, workers and unions. FISC’s establishment was a key recommendation of the 2014 Independent Review into health and safety in forestry.
