Abstract: Log specifications define the physical characteristics of log products, or grades. They are designed to reduce stem variability and provide customers with a more uniform product. Specifications can be specific to a buyer or seller; however, most suppliers adhere to an industry standard. Specifications are central to log sale contracts. They help to ensure buyers and sellers have a common understanding of what will be produced and delivered.
