Abstract: For any forest owner, timber harvesting is an exciting, but challenging time. It is the realisation of a long term investment, but also a time of very intense management, significant costs, as well as a sudden change to their landscape. It is also a time of increased legal responsibility with regard to safety of the people working in their forest and the protection of the environment. A clear caveat to the information provided here is that for all timber harvesting professional advice should be sought.
