Abstract: Managing forest plantation resources requires access to large quantities of basic data of various kinds. Plantation Resource Information Systems (PRISs) are tools for reliably capturing and storing these data and allowing rapid processing, analysis, and reporting of information at various levels of aggregation to support forest management and decision-making. Specific forest management data requirements might include those shown in Table 1 (Whyte 1990).
