Abstract: The on-site and off-site effects of landslides in erodible steeplands remain a significant issue for plantation forestry management. The Erosion Susceptibility Classification (ESC) developed for the proposed National Environmental Standard (NES) for Plantation Forestry provides a coarse screening tool, but improved tools are needed for risk analysis at the scale of forestry operations.
