Abstract: A historical account is given of the activities in the UK, North Africa, Italy and the Pacific Islands during World War II of the forestry companies of the New Zealand Corps of Engineers. Their main activities involved logging and sawmilling. The benefits to New Zealand forestry of the experience gained in Europe is noted.
