Abstract: Briefly considers methods of increasing yields of wood, forest operations (burning, land preparation, the use of herbicides, pesticides and fertilizers, thinning and felling of the final crop), management considerations, and multiple land use in New Zealand; and concludes that, in general, production forestry concerns are practising good land use and major changes in methods are unnecessary.
