Abstract: This paper describes the methods used for making quality control assessments and the resulting penalties for poor qual-itv in all silvicultural operations carried out by N.Z. Forest Products Ltd.

The emphasis is placed on making objective assessments which provide information for stand histories and management purposes as well as quality control.
