Abstract: The forest of Aniseed Stream is podocarp-hardwood, with mountain beech present on ridges and spurs. Tawa finds its southern limit in this forest, at an altitude of 1,100-1,400 ft. The distribution and regeneration of the major trees are discussed in terms of geology and climate.
