Abstract: This paper describes and discusses the results of a stem analysis of all species on a typical area of regenerated kauri-podocarp forest, fostered under a kanuka nurse. Kanuka is shown to be a very effective nurse, while the stand is shown to be all aged. The regeneration period to produce this type of stand is shown to be between 60 and 80 years. The younger age classes are suppressed, with the result that the all-aged stand is tending to become even-aged in appearance.
