Carbon Valuation Standard - Exposure Draft 2024
NZIF Standard for Valuation of Carbon
The NZIF Forest Valuation Working Party has developed a Standard for Valuation of Carbon. The purpose of this standard is to estimate the market value of the carbon trading opportunity associated with the future carbon sequestration by a tree crop. The focus is on the carbon trading opportunity under the New Zealand Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS).
The Exposure Draft of the carbon standard together with guidance notes are now available for review from the NZIF website. Please send feedback on the revised standards (by 30 September 2025) to the Convenor of the NZIF Forest Valuation Working Party at
Bruce Manley.
A final standard will be released following the consultation period - members only.
